Filet Mignon from Maxwells

Written on 4/16/91

Sauté 1 or 2 cloves garlic sliced in 4 T butter

Add one box mushrooms, peeled and sliced

Salt and pepper

1 tsp Bovril (Like this)

Sauté about 3-4 minutes and transfer mushrooms to a bowl and leave butter, etc in pan

Add another T of butter and melt. Add 1 tsp or more lemon juice and 1 tsp (?) Bovril and 1 tsp Worcestershire, and 1-2 T red wine. Dip filets in this.

Salt and pepper (course ground) meat, add a little garlic powder

Spoon any leftover sauce mixture on top of meat

Broil 5 + 4 for rare, add 3 minutes each side for medium well and 5 +4 to each side for well done

Warm mushrooms and spoon on steaks

To really go all out, flambé with brandy
