Pul Ko Kee (Korean BBQ)

Meat- 1 to 1 1/2 lb beef (flank or round). Cut beef on diagonal in 1/8″ slices. Partially frozen meat cuts very easily


1/2 C sugar

1/4 C soy sauce

3 T sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, crushed

2 green onion, chopped

Few drops tabasco or cayenne pepper, if desired


  1. Mix marinade ingredients together. Add beef and stir well
  2. Marinate beef several hours
  3. Soak bamboo sticks in water for a few minutes to prevent burning
  4. Thread meat on bamboo sticks. Remaining marinade may be poured over beef before cooking
  5. Broil meat 2 min on each side, turning once. This is delicious cooked over charcoalimg_4193
